This is how the intermediate test of the CBR works
In the video below you can see how an intermediate test is done. With such an intermediate test you can already get used to the exam situation. You will also receive tips from the examiner for the rest of your driving training. The intermediate test is a trial exam that is taken at about ¾ of the course. This trial exam will be taken as if it were your real practical exam. The trial exam will be taken by someone from the CBR. During the intermediate test, your driving skills and independence are assessed. All exam items are scrutinised. You will be assessed on the official examination requirements. Because your intermediate test proceeds like a normal exam, you’ll know what to expect. This will make you much less nervous before the official practical exam.
Special operations
During the intermediate test, the special manoeuvres will also be discussed. If you do all these well, you will get an exemption. This means that you don’t have to take them during your official exam. Your instructor is also in the car during the intermediate test. At the end of the test, the instructor will find out what you can still improve before your official practical exam. For an intermediate test, you must be in possession of your theory.
The intermediate test is meant for candidates who are going to take the test for categories B (passenger car), BE (passenger car with trailer) and AVD (traffic participation for the motorbike). We always recommend that you take the intermediate test, as this increases your chances of success. This is also confirmed by the CBR. If you indicate that you would like to take an intermediate test, we will arrange this for you. You can find the rates for the intermediate test under the heading ‘rates’ on our website. Further information on the intermediate test can be found in the brochure above.
