If you are participating in 2toDrive, you’ll need a companion pass. You can apply for this pass from the age of 16,5. Your companion guides will sign up first. You can do so via this page. Once all of your companion guides have signed up, you can then apply for the companion pass. You must apply for the Companion Pass before you can apply for the driver’s license at your local authority. To register, you use DigiD. The cost of applying for the pass is €35. These costs must be paid directly via iDEAL when applying for the Companion Pass.
After the RDW receives the application for the Companion Pass, it checks whether it is correct and complete. If so, the pass will be sent to your home within 10 working days. When you are on the road with your companion guide, you must always carry your driver’s license as well as your companion pass.
